STRATEGIC ALLOCATION - We believe in asset allocation with a conscience. Therefore, we select prudent allocation targets based upon the goals and objectives for the portfolio. We then adjust and rebalance the portfolio based upon opportunities to capture growth or avoid risk.
CORE HOLDINGS - The core portfolio is regularly updated to balance the risk and return opportunities in the market. It is a broadly diversified portfolio that covers asset classes across the spectrum from large to small, domestic to international, or stocks to bonds.
SATELLITE HOLDINGS - Our satellite portfolio is constructed of opportunistic holdings designed to offset risks and capitalize on opportunities for growth and additional cash flow/dividend yield.
DISCIPLINE - We are disciplined in our approach to proper diversification, risk assessment and mitigation, pricing and acquisition/exit strategies.
Iron Horse predominantly uses ETFs or Indexed Funds in portfolios in an effort to deliver the durable competitive advantage of lower costs in the portfolio (costs deferred is money that stays invested for you rather than being siphoned off to fund companies, advisors, etc.). We also believe our investors benefit from a lack of manager bias, eliminated excess underlying trading costs, reduced style drift and managers chasing returns and retain the ability to slice and dice the marketplace to access the precise level of market exposure we desire.
